ok so I know that the admissions officers focus on your junior year the most so I'm kind of worried.
at the end of last year I got really sick and could hardly stay awake to study. because of this, I completely failed my english final. our school policy is that the final counts for 25% of your final… that being said my english grade dropped from a high B to a D. I am really worried about this D and don't know what I should do about it. how can I explain to colleges that this D only reflects one assignment and not my entire year of work. also I ended up with a C in math, the only C I have. (it was a challenging class.)
ps I'm an IB student so I'm in all rigorous classes. and my other grades aren't bad. but how will colleges see this?

Most college have a form called special circumstances. That is a chance for you to explain./
