Christians believe that Satan and man are the source of all evil not god, right? But if god didn’t want sin and evil to exist why didn’t god just create a bunch of perfect little jesus like humans with freewill that would never sin? How does allowing sin and evil make god greater in god’s eyes or man’s eyes? Please explain. If god thinks that defeating evil is greater than simply preventing it from existing altogether isn’t that just vanity?

Everything is the way it is and it is going to stay that way :) Although i do certainly understand where you are coming from, I think instead of wondering "what if", we should rather ask ourselves if we are living the way God wants us to live :)
God promises that He will one day take away sin and death and all misery from His children and instead we will finally be in paradise with our Lord Jesus and our Father in His Kingdom :)
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever." Revelation 21: 4
"The twelve gates were made of pearls--each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass." Revelation 21: 21
Everything is the way it is because God has let it go this way. But it will not always be the way it is forever. One day we will all be judged according to our deeds in this life and we will all have to give an account of the things we have done :)
“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. “All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? ‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? ‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ “Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ “Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ “These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25: 31-46
God is the God of love and of life :) and our Lord Jesus is the Prince of Life :) Wouldn't you want to side with the God and the Prince of Life and be given eternal life for absolutely no cost at all? :)
"And killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses." Acts 3: 15
Please understand that god is not merciless nor is He unkind. He is the exact opposite and wants all of us to be like Him as His children and be filled with unconditional love, because love covers a multitude of sins and is one of the greatest and most important gifts given to us by our Father in Heaven :)
"If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clinging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing." 1 Corinthians 13: 1-2
"If I gave everything I had to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would have gained nothing." 1 Corinthians 13: 3
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.” 1 John 4: 7
“God is love and all who live in love lives in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect.” 1 John 4: 16
“Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.” 1 John 3: 18-19
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." 1 John 3: 16
"Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4: 8
People "with" freewill have and do sin. Humans can act as Jesus acted, but often times we may choose not to. Question asked does not appear to make complete sense. If the Father didn't allow evil to exist for some time, how then would humans have choice to do either good or bad actions? Freewill is linked to the ability to choose to do either right or wrong. Jesus was tempted by Satan, but He did not give in. He was like us (He has a physical body and experienced things that humans experience), yet He lived a pure and holy life. With freewill existing, people choose to either be a follower of Love or to reject Truth.
God is Great despite what humans think! Perhaps you use the term "vanity" instead of understanding that a person with freewill should appreciate the opportunity to chose what path to take instead of living life as a mindless robot without the opportunity to follow the road that he chooses to follow. If God existed before you, then who are you to call God's action "vain?" Isn't the Creator's Truth the only real Truth? And does He not deserve our worship? After all, wouldn't man not exist if the Heavenly Father chose not to create man? So...who are we to question Him?
Because God does things in His own way. God is a just God. He not only leaves room for significance but also personal responsibility. There has to be an effort on the part of the person. When you look at how God does things in His way you see how He offers each one of us the promises of being obedient which makes the road through life truthful, prosperous, rewarding, loving, miracle filled, spirit filled, peaceful, joyful, fruitful, discerning, and filled with wisdom. People choose not to obey and then they blame God and call Him a liar. Typical.
Sin replaced into the fall of guy, God did make us ideal, yet Sin took that away.Blame devil, he helped. We have been by no skill mint to be gods, yet devil tempted Eve into thanking that we could desire to grow to be like gods if we did consume of awareness of solid and evil. So we believed a lie and Sin replaced into exceeded all the way down to all mankind..
God wants us all to be happy. And happyness comes from good acts. The better person you are the more happy will you become. So God puts up challenges for us so that we can conquer them and become the righteus beings he wants us to be.
God made people, then He gave them free will.. Good and evil lay in front of you. You have to choose your path.
For example: If you love someone, and they don't love you back, do you force that person saying, "love me, love me"? No you don't. You leave them to do what they want to do. same case here!
God coul not be restricted in a space.
