Bogota is NOTHING like the DF. The DF is about 100X more polluted. Go to Cartagena. Wonderful night life. Islas Rosario is a great place to take a day trip. The walled city has a ton of cool things to see and do. Word up. When you are wandering around "old" Cartagena, be sure NOT to take the card that every person there will offer you and tell you its for "discount" in some store. That's a lie. Its a comision card. If you have their card you pay more and the extra money goes to whomever gave you the card. The Castle San Felipe is great. Romancing the Stone was filmed there as was Romance in the Time of Cholera.
Cartagena is a city with a great nightlife and restaurants, and where you can have a very relaxing time at the beach. It's not very cultural, though. It has several museums and beautiful architecture, but you can find a lot more variety of cultural activities in Bogota.
Bogotá is more similar to Mexico city, because they're both very crowded, hectic cities. There's a wide offer of museums in Bogotá, including the Gold Museum, which holds a very large and impressive collection of precolonial gold artwork, and the National Museum, which accounts different periods of colombian history, and also holds several temporary exhibitions. There are several art museums, too, such as the Museum of Modern Art (MAMBo) and the Botero Museum.
You can find a lot of restaurants and bars, where you can find traditional colombian food and beverages, as well as international cuisine. It's really nice to visit Bogota during december, since several public parks and streets are decorated with christmas lights, and there are several theater plays and concerts through the city.
That depends on what you want. I have traveled to both and found them both to be wonderful. Cartagena has a lot of history in the "old" city. It is a beach town and warm climate. Bogota has a lot of history in the central plaza and other places also. It is in the mountains and has a very mild, temperate (some would say cold) climate. Go to both and enjoy the differences and the similarities.
Better go to Ecuador for sure....it is awonderful place to go, it has alot of places to visit, the people are so nice and helpful, and they try to make you feel at home, and there is alot of beautiful places to visit, and the night life, the place to party are so beautiful not only the quality of the places but the people that go there too........the beaches are clean beautiful and surrounded by hot people the culture is amazing and so diverse that you wont get tired of it......and for sure is alot safer and more beautil that honduras or peru.
please listen to me I am sure you are gonna love it.
