I’ve taken French all my life in school from the age of 4 to high school. I am now currently taking a program in Child and Youth studies at university, with plans to go to teacher college afterwards. I am fluent in French, however, in Canada is a minor or major in French required fo teach in a French school?

Canada has native quebecois speakers to teach in their public schools. They earned their teaching degrees in Canada to meet Canadian teacher certification requirements. No employment visas for school teachers, either.
what do you intend to teach in this school? If your answer is English, then a major or minor in English would likely be required. If math, then ... Math. Otherwise, CV19 will likely cause a shortage of teachers and the Quebec or Montreal schools that use French will probably be very glad to have you. [Perhaps even the Catholic ones.]
No. 'French' Canadians do not speak 'French'. They speak a form of 18th century Creole. They need to have French translated into English and then into their own patois.
