I would like to tell you that allergy shots will help with dermatitis, but I really can't find any solid evidence to support that.
If atopic dermatitis (eczema) has flared up due to having asthma or even hay fever, which either of these two can bring on a flare up of eczema...getting an allergy shot might keep the condition from worsening.
Atopic dermatitis is really not that difficult to keep under control if you know how to control it.
If you've seen a dermatologist, I'm sure you've been prescribed a cortisone cream to help with this. My advice is to stay away from any type of cortisone creams as they will have some long term side affects.
Look for natural ways to help with your dermatitis. Doing some research, I've found a nice little article that can give you an idea of what I'm talking about.
I'm sorry if this wasn't the answer you were looking for, but as I stated earlier I really can't find any solid evidence that allergy shots are used to treat eczema.
Hope this has helped you somewhat.
Atopic Dermatitis is a terrible disease to have to live with. But honestly, it's easier to keep under control that what most people know.
If it is only $40 a month, go for it. It would now cost us $100 per month, so we cannot afford it. I had allergy shots for a total of nine years. I went once per week for five years. It did take two years to start helping, but it did me a lot of good. I used to have severe allergies to all pollens and also oral allergy syndrome, (I could not eat most raw fruits or vegetables). After being on the shots for five years, my oral allergy syndrome totally went away. Now I can actually eat a salad. I used also be allergic to the smell of skunk. Now it only stinks and does not make me break out in hives.
