I've been looking into ombreing my hair, but I have never dyed my hair before and I really don't want to spend a lot of money on going to the salon to get it done. I have naturally really long, un-relaxed African American hair, but I keep it straight and lightly curled all the time. I've been looking at different ways to ombré my hair because the style is growing on me and I saw the new "L'Oreal Paris Feria Wild Ombré" and was thinking about trying it. And I really don't want to mess up my hair. Any tips or recommendations? Thanks! (:

I have natural African American hair as well.If you want to ombre your hair go to a professional, especially if you haven't dyed your hair before. African American hair is very delicate and needs to be dyed by a professional since their is a lot of bleaching going on. I contemplated the ombre look but decided not to go through after my stylist told me that some breakage is normal after getting this done. This is because the ends are the oldest part of you hair and they go through the bleaching process in order to get the ombre look. I got highlights instead and I highly recommend them. Not only are they low maintenance but they aren't as damaging to your hair. You can always get a rinse if you want a red, brown, etc.Plus if you get enough you can grow them out to get a similar ombre look! Whatever you decide to do make sure that you take care of your hair once you've dyed. Hope I could help!!!
each and every time i dye my hair, i take advantage of diverse hair dyes from walmart, continually one that could be a minimum of 10 funds or around that, and that i purchase a gloomy organic Brown or dark impartial Brown. do not purchase something that announces ash or auburn or chestnut. Your hair will seem very dark for a week or 2, yet then it fades to greater of a rather dark brown. solid success!

If it is going to be a dirty blond (like I saw in the publicity), don't do it !
