i have a 95 deville 4.9 and i removed the Starter motor sheild i am guessing that it is to. lock heat and now car won’t start for a few minutes after it’s hot but now summer is here the car dies after driving for a while but not in the cool mournings only in the hot afternoon On my way home from work could this be because the Starter motor sheild is gone ?

Carefully pour or spray cold water over the starter. You know what you did wrong. Put the shield back on.
Why did you remove it? Put it back on and see if it fixes the issue of not starting. Check if the car is overheating.
