31=3-4k Help
Joe has it wrong if you have worked with negatives yet it would be k=-7 (-4 times -7 equals 28 plus 3 equals 31) if not you SUBRACT 3 from 31 to get 28 then divide 28 by -4, same answer, one way is just easier.
Add 3 to 31 and you get 34, then divide by 4k
31=3-4k
28 = -4k (subtracting 3 from both sides)
-7 =k (dividing both sides by -4)
31 = 3 - 4k
4k = 3-31 = -28
k = -28 /4 = -7 ANSWER
28=-4k
28/-4=k
-7=k
28 = 4k {subtracted 3 from both sides}
k = 7 {divided both sides by 4}
