It depends which the other team is, I support Manchester United and would happily play for even less than 10K a week. It amazes me when players/agents demand their player earns 100k + per week, as 99.9% of fans would play for far less. Yes they have a shorter career than everyone else but if they didn't spend it on daft houses and trophie wife's then they would not need big money contracts.

you could survive on 500 quid a week, so 10k would be a hell of a lot! not to mention other things such as win bonses. and even in 10 or 20 years time with inflation and 10k per week being worth less and less, you would still have enough saved up and live comfortably

If it is your own club, you should be happy to play for them for free. That is what sport is about. Look at any amateur sport and those that play for their teams play with far more passion than any paid sportsperson does. So play for your own club for free and go out and earn your living elsewhere, as many sports people do.
