Why would a guy I’m recently seeing tell me not to fall in love with him?
So I’m in a different city, dating a new guy I met and I know it’s prolly not serious although it sucks because I think we could actually date.
But he randomly told me not to fall in in love with me joking in a way.

It's a game guys play. They tell you not to do something knowing it will make you more inclined to do it, but it also let's them off the hook for hurting you because - technically - they warned you. I think I'd create some distance to show him his manipulation is not going to work.
Just for fun. Or maybe he has stuff about his self that he doesn't like and doesn't suggest you fall for him. If he does, well everybody does soo i wouldn't think much of it.
He's telling you don't get too attached and get your hopes up for "more." You might want to pay attention to that.
