Why haven’t I started my period after taking the “Take Action” pill (morning after pill)?

I am on birth control and have been since 1 year ago. This past weekend on Thursday I had sex with my boyfriend and he came inside of me. That day was the last pill I took before the placebos to start my period. My period comes 2 days after usually in the morning or afternoon. So it should’ve came Sunday morning or afternoon around 2 or earlier. It never came so we got worried and took the morning after pill. It says it can be taken up to 5 days after unprotected sex and it’s only been 3. I know it’s best to take right after but I am on birth control so I waited thinking it would come. But I ended up taking it Sunday evening and around 5 am the next day( Monday) I got small cramps and I experienced bleeding till about 1 pm in the afternoon. I thought it was my period finally coming but then it stopped and no other bleeding. Should I continue to wait or did this mess my whole period schedule up because I took it right before my period was supposed to start. Birth control is very effective and has been in my system for a year now.
