What are your theories on its cause or reason?
Update:I'm interested in your own thoughtful responses, not just a copy and past of what Wikipedia has to say or something.
Update 3:*paste :) not "past." Lol.

I never really thought about it myself, but my brother once told me his theory and I kinda like it. He said: I think the reason we all have déjà vu is because we're all about to die and this is our life flashing before our eyes. We're reliving every moment of every day over again so we already know what's going to happen, therefore, déjà vu.
The term déjà vu is a French term coined by a French psychic researcher named Emile Boirac. Déjà vu, or paramnesia, is an experience which means "already seen," and describes the feeling of having already experienced a situation previously. When experiencing déjà vu, one is struck with feelings of familiarity and strangeness, which can make one feel that the situation has truly happened before.
Approximately two thirds of adults claim to have had a déjà vu experience. Déjà vu experiences have been connected with medical conditions, such as schizophrenia, epilepsy, and anxiety. No one really knows what causes these episodes, although psychologists have also come up with theories such as stress and internal hidden conflicts. Some believe déjà vu is the memory of previously forgotten dreams. Still others associate it with psychic abilities, prophecy, or past-life experiences.
The Bible gives us examples of those who likely experienced something similar to déjà vu, such as through the gift of prophecy (see 1 Corinthians 14). A déjà vu experience could be the result of God revealing certain things to a person before the event occurred, but the experience could also simply be the result of something occurring that is very similar to an event in the past. The event triggers the memory, causing an "eerie" sense of familiarity. Rather than being a spiritual issue, déjà vu is likely a simple and harmless physical one.

Scientifically, deja vu is the subconscious mind 'experiencing' a thought or event or sequence of events before the conscious mind does. It is almost like having a 'wide awake dream'.
I agree with this cock sucker right up here ^
