DON'T THEY KNOW JESUS WAS (((SENT)))?
( JOHN 4:9 SAYS "...He (((SENT))) His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him" .
DON'T THEY KNOW
"He whom GOD has (((SENT))) ***THE SPIRIT*** is given him without measure" (John 3:34)!
WHY THEN DO THEY BELIEVE JESUS WHO WAS (((SENT))) (I JOHN 4:9) AND "THE SPIRIT WAS GIVEN HIM WITHOUT MEASURE" (JOHN 3:34) RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT AT HIS WATER BAPTISM?
Update:@LIZ
DIDN'T JESUS "BREATH ON THEM AND THEY RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST" (JN 20:22) (((BEFORE))) THE DAY OF PENTEOCST (ACTS 2:2-4)?
DOESN'T THAT TELL YOU WE ARE (((REGENERATED))) BY THE HOLY GHOST (((OVER AND OVER AGAIN?)))
WHAT DO YOU MEAN JESUS RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST IN SOME RIVER WHEN HE WAS THE HOLY GHOST (JN 14:18;26) WHO SAID "I HAVE KEPT THEM" (JN 17:12; MATT 13:11).
JESUS KNEW THAT HE WAS LEAVING HIS FLESH AND IS WHY HE "BREATHED ON THEM AND THEY RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST" (JN 20:22)
Update 3:@ANON
DON'T YOU KNOW GOD IS "DIVERSITIES OF OPERATIONS" (I COR 12:6)?
THE DEVIL KNOWS GOD TOO AND IS WHY YOU TREMBLE AND "ACCUSE" (REV 12:10) OF "TOO MANY ACCOUNTS."

Matthew 3:16,17 After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water; and look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw God's spirit descending like a dove and coming upon him. Look! Also, a voice from heaven said: "This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved."
Maybe because that is how it is written.
RE:update: It is written in scripture that the spirit came upon him AFTER he got out of the water. It's right there in scripture. Now you say scripture is dizzyland. Shame on you, Norine.
(Ugh)
So many misunderstandings on your part, in such a (for you) short question.
Jhn 3:34
NASB - For He whom God sent speaks the words of God; for He does not give the Spirit sparingly.
NRSV - He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for he gives the Spirit without measure.
So...
HE
namely
JESUS
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+...
speaks the words of God
because God gives the Spirit without measure (i.e. not by meager portions).
Now: **I** don't believe that Jesus was given the Holy Spirit when baptized by John
but for those who do
that passage would do NOTHING to contradict their belief.
For howsoever often thou shalt inquire, therefore it shall be revealed unto thee:
Religions are based on feelings and guesses, not on facts.
So, with over two thousand denominations, sects, and cults all self-identifying as "Christian", some people are going to believe stuff very different from the stuff which you believe.
Why does it bother you?
Without any testable, repeatable, consistent evidence that you are right, you simply GUESS and FEEL that they must be wrong.
Have a rational day.
how many accounts do you have granny norine
we all know who you are
(Matthew 3:16) After being baptized, Jesus immediately came up from the water; and look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw God’s spirit descending like a dove and coming upon him.
(Luke 3:21, 22) Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus too was baptized. As he was praying, the heaven was opened up, 22 and the holy spirit in bodily form like a dove came down upon him, and a voice came out of heaven: “You are my Son, the beloved; I have approved you.”
(Mark 1:9, 10) In the course of those days, Jesus came from Nazʹa·reth of Galʹi·lee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. 10 And immediately on coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens being parted and, like a dove, the spirit coming down upon him.
(John 1:32) John also bore witness, saying: “I viewed the spirit coming down as a dove out of heaven, and it remained upon him.
The issues raised are not equivalent comparisons (and your comparisons never are). The results are illogical, contradictory, incoherent, ill-conceived, unbelievable and confusing.
