Just cause you're a guy doesn't mean you " have the emotional range of a teaspoon"! (sorry had to plug some harry potter references in:)
Les Miserables covers some of the worst thing a human can endure, and still manages to let hope shine through in the end. If any guy or girl watched Gavroch's die in the movie and wasn't moved when Javert gave his medal to his dead body, then I'm not even sure they're human...
It's a basic human instinct to want the good guys to win, and those we love to overcome death, even though it's unrealistic to think we will live forever, most plays uphold human's belief in this.
Personally, the hope at the epilogue sequence gets me every time. But everyone has their own moment they connect with(: It's perfectly fine to be moved by this play, it's made to play with your emotions and challenge your alliances to the typical "Good and Evil" characters.
This is a story full of passion and beauty. I wouldn't want to know anyone who wasn't touched by the tragedy and beauty of something as well written and performed as that. Go you! You have found something that touched you. These things are what make life worth living. Revel in it.....
