If intellectual honesty (vs obfuscation) is an ethics issue -- and to me it seems the Prime Ethics issue in the Congress, then the GOP is totally hypocritical -- never intellectually honest ---- and the Dems are often hypocritical, only sometimes intellectually honest.
Liberals are natural teachers. GOP types are natural bosses. Bosses don't care what you understand -- just that you do what they want you to do. Teachers want you to be enlightened, they want you to learn your lesson, and they want to help you graduate.
Liberals are care-givers. GOP types are pioneers (when you freeze to death, they will eat your body -- or maybe before).
Poor people generally are more generous, caring, open hearted than rich people. For the rich it's always us vs them and are they going to take something from us or cost us money. The poor see themselves as parts of The People -- the Community -- we're all in this together kind of thing -- why can't we all just get along.
The way wealth is held in the USA is absurd and obscene. 3% own 50%, and the top 1% own half of that.
That kind of pattern tends not to be stable (see also the French Revolution).
The middle class are dying off like the buffalo.
The three classes now are the rich, the poor, and the desparately indigent.
I think we were lucky to get mild mannered no drama Obama as our first introduction of a little taste of Marxism.
If we don't straighten up our ways are re-grow the middle class the next liberal cycle may bring somebody more like Eldridge Cleaver, Bobby Seale, Che Guevara, or Emma Goldberg. The rich really would not like that.
They are very shortsighted. They were not good scholars -- mostly footballers and schoolyard bullies. Thinking makes their heads hurt. So history does not instruct them. So they are doomed to repeat it.
I wonder if they could build a Bankrupcy Court in the shape of the Bastille?
Enfants de la patrie, la jour de gloire est arrive.
So many people cite abortion, and argue that if you don't support abortion then you are morally obligated to support Government run, cradle to grave health care programs, as though just believing that intentionally taking a perfectly healthy human being who hasn't been born yet and killing it because someone doesn't want it needs justification beyond simple morality.
I am far more offended by hypocritical Liberals who want the Government to solve the problems caused by their own irresponsibility. As much as I detest anyone who wants to drive a ScHummer, I have less angst for the person who doesn't believe in an oil problem and drives one then the Liberal who drives one(or any number of over sized land yachts) & supports politicians who want to tax carbon dioxide, which ultimately is borne disproportionately by those with the least, shopping at SprWall-Mart and buying Chinese import crap while bashing free trade & supporting Unions, vilifying developers while living in suburban neighborhood build on destroyed wilderness and commutes 16 miles each way(again re: carbon tax), or the Liberal who won't make eye contact with a fellow human being who is homeless at the intersection asking for help. When is the last time you said "hello" or even volunteered in a soup kitchen?
Republicans aren't always perfect, and there are issues to disagree with, but at least it reflects an intellectual honesty that many fall far short of. In the end I support free markets, non-lobbying unions, and minimal regulation. I do believe it is the path to a better life for all, including the least amongst us. I am a Prius driving, Wall-Mart hating, anti-abortion, cloth diapering, gun owning, conservationist, libertarian leaning, Republican. (Who donates time to the local Soup kitchen & says "hello" to his fellow man living on the street.)
Not many of us around, but I do have my "ethics issues" in line & accounted for. - You?
I can't speak so well of the Democrat establishment here or in other big cities. Worst Cities in America are run by whom? Best are run by whom? This should give you a telling answer as to where "ethics issues" reside.
Democrats. They cry out "Stop the war in Iraq." while remaining mute on the war in Afghanistan. They also support abortion, which is simply a betrayal of humanity to the nth degree. But then again, as an American and a Christian, the only way I can see their politics to be fair is on the basis of the Constitution, which grants them the right to those beliefs.
In other words, if you want to believe that 2 + 2 = 5, I will recognize your Constitutional right to believe that. But, that doesn't mean it is true.
The "ethical foreign policy" of Robin Cook, when he permitted armaments sales to various dictatorships, including Indonesia during its genocide in East Timor, is a low point in political hypocrisy.
Well, probably the Republicans, but not for the reason you might think.
It's almost impossible for a Democrat to be a hypocrite on ethical matters because one actually has to HAVE ethics in the first place in order to violate them.
Republicans! Wanting others to vote NO on Question 2 and thereby forcing their opinions on you and when some people are janitors, they should be voting YES instead of NO.

Democrats. They say "I'm personally against abortion, but it should be legal."
How much more hypocritical can you be? They are sociopaths.
They also say the rich should pay their fair share. But they are the ones caught in tax evasion.
Also global warming ... Al Gore. He has a big house, and flies around the country in a jet.
Give me a break.
Easy the party of Dead Ted, 0bama, Pelosi, Reid, Roosevelt, JFK.
Democrats, they don't know what ethics are to begin with.
Republicans know what they are they just don't seem to follow them.
Democrats. They are war mongers and Constitution destroyers just like the repubs but at least the repubs are straight up about it.
