When a relationship ends is it normal to feel used just because it ended even though you didn’t want to? I just couldn’t see it work.?
He gave up on me because he said “his heart was not in it anymore” ... he was busy with grad school and work and he said he wasn’t happy with himself where he was in his life...I don’t understand why he started a relationship with me if he knew all that... honestly he never pushed me to do anything and wanted to remain my friend because he didn’t wanna lose me and I told him I can’t be friends with him

You're doing the right thing by cutting contact and "not being friends" right now....
I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt you. People get into relationships at the wrong time or with the wrong person without realizing it, or maybe he thought that since he likes you, a relationship with you might give him a boost?..... but truth is, if he isn't happy in his own life, hon, he doesn't have a lot to give in a relationship with you or anyone at all.
Go your own way! I just broke up with my bf of seven years because i think HE is not content with his own life, and he has some life issues to deal with. This caused a lot of time NOT spent with me. And i understand he has issues.... he needs to fix himself. I can't fix him. But i sure do love him and i'm going to miss him for quite a while. Even so, it just wasn't working.
We all move on from most relationships sooner or later. Sending hugs.

However, people are just idiots. It sounds like he didn't think it through when he decided to date you.
Why would you feel used just because you broke up with someone or they broke up with you. If you had a good time for a while and enjoyed being with him but over time you grew apart, that's just life.
You should feel free. Give it a little time, start dating again and move on.
