What's the difference between the particles に and で??

For example, if you were to say something like, "In Osaka I rode the train and shopped," would you say 大阪に or 大阪で?

I have a more specific question also. If I want to say "On my days off...(I watch movies and sing songs and so on.)" do I say 休日に or 休日で? Thanks!
