Does anyone else experience this?
For me it’s the most minor things that set me off. Such as my parents saying that we’re going grocery shopping the next day etc
It happens to a major extent when I’m stressed about something (which is understandable) but surely this can’t be normal? Other people just get on with it but I completely breakdown and often cry and get emotional.
Does anyone have any ideas/advice?

It sounds to me as if disorder just freaks you out. Why? Have you lived in a disordered way sometime in your Life? Who does live that way, whom you know? You want everything to march in order to your own tune... 1, 2, 3. You want the "control" so you basically are "afraid of losing control" of the situation, any situation. If I were you I would get into therapy with a doctor who knows how to help you deal with your control issues.
You must have anxiety.
Go for a checkup.
Set your calendar to remind you 5 days in advance.
