I just had the best calf liver with onions and green beans…I can’t imagine giving that up.
Update:My dinner might be insulting to some of you but it was scrumptious to me!
I would not eat live bugs and I don't blame anybody in South America or Africa, eating live bugs. It's their choice and if they like it, good for them, as long as I don't have to eat live bugs!
I'm sorry Alice. I never wanted to be insulting or appear to be selfish. Get that stick off your bu**!

No. Information is out there and people are finding it. Meat free diets are easier and easier to enjoy even in rural areas.
I am not a fan of liver, but I know meat is tastey. So are alot of non-animal products. I ate a farm fresh peach a couple of days ago that was nearly orgasmic. As I ate it, I never once wanted it to be anything else. I have a deep and abiding love affair with food.
I and my family have gone vegan for a while because we recognize that animal husbandry is not what it was in our grandparents day. We also realize that in a modern world with so many people in it the toll livestock takes on the environment, on our bodies and on the global economy makes it impractical and immoral. Most of the fish fished from the ocean are fed to livestock. Likewise, most crops are fed to them. This creates scarcity that drives up prices and leaves poor countries starving. Those livestock take up land and resorces. Their transport etc. produce pollution. Really, animals cruelty does not motivate me to forgo meat so much as knowing that somewhere a child is starving, a species is being pushed to extinction and the air, soil and water are being poisoned so that I can have a cheese burger.
What you don't seem to understand here is that our eating habbits have nothing to do with you. Our morality is ours alone. If you can stomach the effects of the meat and dairy industry, fine. We can't. This is about what we see as right and reasonable. I won't tell you what to do in your bedroom or your kitchen.
The reasons for becoming a veg*n are many and varied. There are some people with whom it is a fad. Luckily they are only a small minority. The only way to tell if something is a fad is the test of time. If they are still veg*ns a year or more later, then it's obviously not a fad.
You can rest comfortably in the knowledge that the calf also couldn't imagine giving up its liver to feed you.
actually most girls (about 90%) want to go veg at some stage of their teenage years. I wanted to go veg as a teenager, but at the time the materials required to go veg and stay healthy just were not available. Now, though the thought is nice, food allergies and intolerances in the household make it impossible to do and stay healthy. I have to console myself with buying "humane" meats and vegan cleaning and cosmetic products and organic fabrics.
Oh god, when you are asking your questions on yahoo there is this window on the right side that tells you ' Have your question already been answer? ' why does people ask this everyday? vegetarians or vegan don't eat meat cos they don't want to, everybody has a choice on what they eat, i don't like chocolate for example, many people loves it that doesn't mean anything is wrong with me or them, it could be matter of taste, or values like some are cristians others muslims.
Edit: I loved that sentence of yours
' It's their choice and if they like it, good for them, as long as I don't have to eat ... '
well there's your answer everybody eats (or don't eat) what they like.
Some people see it as a fad, as well as "going green" and such. I don't see it as a fad, I never cared much for meat and I love animals. I support PETA and I just do it for lack of taste and animal's sake. Although i think its great for a lot of people to become vegetarians, I dont think everyone is made for it. You for example, I don't support you eating veal but if vegetarianism isn't for you why should you have to do it just because people want you to and see it as a fad.
I am going to try to be a vegetarian for a while - for health reasons. let's see how I feel and how it goes. I gave up on liver a long time ago, as my husband and I both have somewhat high cholesterol and liver is about the worst you can do. We can't take statins or similar drugs.
Your dinner sounds disgusting. That being said, yes, it is definitely a trend or "fad" to be vegetarian or vegan these days. Luckily, not everyone becomes one for those reasons. Some of us actually stand by what we believe in and do it for the right reasons.
That's like saying people being gay is a fad.
It's mostly a situation where you're less likely to be mocked for making a slightly unusual lifestyle decision.
A lot of people are making the choice based off of new information regarding the health benefits.
...and who cares?
There are many reason people want to be vegetarian. Some do it for the wrong reasons, for example they think they will lose weight. Some do it for health reasons, they believe not eating meat is healthier. Some do it because they don't want to contribute to the killing or mistreatment of animals. But some people do it to fit in with their friends who are doing it, and that isn't a good reason.
i became vegetarian around 8 month , frist of couple week i feel not strong but when pass the first month until now im feel good . its not fad. Animals have tears when kill animals sake and cried , animals also scare of death . just do what we think its right to do .
