Are you aware that Attorney Michael Cohen has a long-time history of representing organized crime figures at the time he chose to become Trump's personal "fix it" attorney? You might want to read the well-researched 2016 book by Pulitzer Prize winning David Cay Johnston, "The Making of Donald Trump," Jeff.
The federal NY judge-signed "no-knock" search warrants obtained for Cohen's home, office, and hotel room were executed by the FBI and New York's acting U.S. Attorney based upon actual evidence shown in court. This is hardly a "nothing burgers" situation for the mobbed up Cohen, but the decision made by the Mueller team to hand the case against Cohen over to the U.S. Attorney for New York suggests the criminality under investigation involves New York activities, to include bank fraud and possible witness tampering, among other charges. Special Prosecutor Mueller has the option of reclaiming jurisdiction should the confiscation of the records your question cites reveal criminal conspiracy or collusion with Russia during the campaign.
Check out the Politico article regarding Cohen's campaign-year travel to the European Union (EU) from where Cohen was able to travel to the Czech Republic by going in through Italy without having a passport stamp as long as Cohen came back into the EU from his point of origin (i.e., Italy). BuzzFeed did an in-depth article that involved Cohen's brother and Cohen himself setting up a Russian-tied business deal that appears to be shady at best, so my guess is that mob attorney Cohen is in deep "doo-doo" at this point, in New York and also as part of the Russian probe.
If you dig deep into ANYONE you will find a crime. The question is will it be the crime we are looking for? I think when we're done looking for a smoking gun for Trump we should continue this activity. Go from politician to politician. Probably set some rules; dedicate a certain number of hours to each person then if something tangible is found prove it's worth investigating to a group of judges. From there pass it on to an investigator and check the next guy. A forever search with no results is simply a witchhunt.

they are looking for money fraud, not necessarily things on trump, its also a side investigation or the FBI would not be involved
