I realize this is probably an extremely easy problem, but I'm HORRIBLE at physics. Any explanation would be amazing.
convert the units first so:
+18 µC=18E-6C and
+3.2 mC=3.2E-3C and
38cm= .38 m
then use Coulomb's formula and plug in the numbers.
F=(KQ1Q2)/r^2
so:
F=((8.99E9)(18E-6)(3.2E-3))/(.38^2)
F=3586.04
