A "Christian" is a little or small Christ. Small because a christian is not yet fully developed as Christ as he/she is still growing/developing spiritually. Basically, a christian is one who accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, Lord God and King of his life. A christian believes that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross is the only solution given by God to pay for his past, present and future sin. A christian is a sinner redeemed by the blood of Christ and considered "now no condemnation who are in Christ." A christian is one who upon accepting Christ and His atoning death on the cross in his heart, receive the Holy Spirit as a "down payment" of eternity. And if anyone deosn't have the Spirit of Christ (the Holy Spirit), he doesn't belong to Christ. And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus Christ from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who lives in you.

Different religions within Christianity have different identifying factors, but what they all have in common is they believe Jesus Christ is the lord and savior.
A Christian is a person who believes that Jesus Christ is the one and only true living God, that he resurrected from the dead, and is therefore alive today (Romans 10:9) and was born of a virgin (indicating his sinless nature).
