52°15' : What does it mean?
This type of measure came up in one of my math problems but I don't know that it means, I've never seen it before.
The subject is Trigonometry if that makes any difference.

But if it were more complex like tan(37°46', how would you enter that into a calculator when 46/60 isn't a finite number.
When I tried something like 37 + (46/60), it messed up the calculations and the answer.
Is there a simpler way?

It means 52 degrees plus 15 minutes of a degree. (1 deg = 60 min of a degree)
Ergo, 52.25°
