A lady with severe learning disabilities has been awarded £65,000 in compensation from the NHS as a staff member reportedly removed and damaged her doll, which she apparently thought was a real baby. Was this money deserved in your opinion?

The award wasn't just for her doll it was for the neglect, abuse and trauma
Yes, it is a lot of money which hopefully can make this lady more comfortable, happy
and fully recover from her shocking ordeal at the hands of so called professionals.
Was anyone sacked ? Thought not.We should treat NHS employees like any other especially as many of them are foreigners and shouldn't be in the country. Nobody is held to account because certain people have turned the NHS into a national institution that can't be criticised and anybody working for it can't be held accountable.
It's a very sad case. Nurses are no longer the caring profession they are only in it for the money. The NHS disgusts me. The more times they have to put their hands in their pockets and compensate people the better. They will never learn that people have rights and that WE employ them. It doesn't matter whether the lady has any concept of money it's their moral duty to compensate her.
My thoughts?...it's criminal the number of times the NHS has to pay compensation to people, it runs into many millions. It's not the patients who are really sick it is some of the uncaring staff and the NHS itself.
It was a great shame that was done if the people who did this knew she thought it was her baby. It looks like a case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing ?
But I cant honestly see what £65,000,or any amount of money is going to do for her as she obviously has no concept of money and she will continue to get the treatment she needs.
It's not about the doll. It's about the abusive treatment and absolute lack of care. The damage to a treasured baby doll, is obviously traumatising for the lady, but it's the brutal treatment, including that incident, that caused such harm.
Given that doctors can earn that amount for doing diddly squat, then it seems reasonable. It's probably about time that professionals were paying these fines from their wages, when they are found guilty of abuse.
It's cruel what happened to her - but how does giving her silly money make things right? Maybe educate her that dolls aren't real people instead of pandering to her. I don't mean that as it sounds - I mean address the illness instead of going along with it.
Definitely. I think anyone who subjects themselves to long term treatment by the NHS, deserves some sort of award
If this is for real, your politicians in England are nuttier than I thought. You are really screwed up.
NO,,and that's MY money !!!!
Wasted,by PC stupidity.
