Books.
Riding, ballet, swimming, music etc. lessons.
An excursion to an exiting destination, such as a really cool museum, theatre, or exhibit. Make it memorable.
A fabulous and meaningful holiday gift would be a photo of you and the person you are giving the gift to. Find a special frame or make one. This gift will last a life time and won't break the bank.
Something you make from the heart is an awesome gift. You're not required to buy anything for Christmas you know. You've been trained by the consumerism that floods your brain from constant marketing since you were born. When I was a broke college student, I made gifts. I still make gifts because people seem to like that I'm not buying them more crap to stuff in their house. They do like these gifts because I end up getting second requests after Christmas for copies or new items. I make music CD's or send a digital music. I've received music CD's and I love them. I've also received home made body oil lotions, lip balms, hand knit scarves and socks, and digital artwork (like digital media compilations - love this!). I love this stuff! I also love to receive ornaments. People can't really buy me anything I cannot buy myself. I'm very picky. I much prefer a handmade gift to a store bought one. Even the pieced together fruit basket makes me happy. I prefer gifts that have experience tucked in, not something that takes up more space that I have to lug around when I relocate.
The most awesome gift I got from another very broke friend in college happened to be a printed mapped out travel trip for Spring Break. Granted, the trip did cost $$$, but I didn't have to plan it. I got the trip's well thought out itinerary for Christmas. An experience is a better gift, always.
How could I forget.....pool money together and make one big donation to a cause. That's a great gift idea. Philanthropy.
Glenn has been my son-in-law for 11 years now. He's a wonderful person whom I come to love over time. Since Christmas is coming up, I'd like to get him an appropriate gift that doesn't cost too much. I'm stumped. The only thing I can think of giving him is a Tim Horton's gift card! I will go with this unless someone can give me a better idea. Help!
when postage got too high for me and when we all decided not to exchange gifts, and when there were no longer little kids around we decided enough was enough. I remember my family sending out a thousand christmas cards when I was a kid, but I'm not my family, I'm me and so we can't be like others are. If we don't owe someone something then no need to get them a gift, make them cookies, a cheese ball, cheesecake, peanut brittle, fruitcake, bring them a ham or something they can eat. Lots of people this year are starving, and next year will be worse so "food" is the answer. Put a bow on it.
I never spend more than £10 on a gift. Here's what I bought this year
Mum - silver earrings from market stall (£7)
Dad - USB pen (£5)
Brother - Book (£2)
Uncle - Topman Socks (£3)
Aunt - Fleece gloves (£4)
Teen girl cousin - Striped knee socks from discount store (£2)
Dog - Dried pig's ear (£1)
Make and gather a homemade gift basket. Put in like a homemade mug, baked goods, maybe your favorite tea/ coffee. Just add a bunch of little goodies into a gift basket that everybody will appreciate!
I make a list of what I buy and the item's prices. That way, I can see how much I am spending! Also If I have a gift card that I know I'm not going to use later, I can either spend that on a present or re-gift it to a friend. Happy Holidays! :)
For a man, I would recommend The Golden Secret by Antonio Banderas. I've worn it for years and never had a complaint, only compliments. For a woman, I'd recommend Jennifer Aniston(obviously by her). Both are relatively cheap, last for many hours, and are easy to find. Hope it all works out well regardless.
ao couples go out to special places not expensive money card clothesrather than toys 4 babies since they grow sofast an tend to play with there new toys a few times than forget it.gifts for husband or wife something they can use thatispractical not something to get they only can useonly on specialoccasions.really people how often does couples go out to special places when both work to make ago of itto raise their children high rent an bills.its not orth going into debt to give the other something they cant really afford an let the kids do without things they really need clothes cuz they stll geowing up or out.a very pretty poem written by the other would be more special for them golden yr memories.
You'd be surprised what you may find at a dollar store. Only the stores that everything is a dollar like Dollar Tree, not Dollar General. I like buying those towns you make with the cotton as the snow.
