Several results/reasons evolved f/ the major most source ... the world went into depression starting in 1929 (reason 1). The US demanded payment of debt f/ the German gov. As times got increasingly worse, the unrest soared into the stratosphere as people began to get desperate for change and were pointing the finger of blame haphazardly.
It's important to note, the Nazi party increased power f/ an auxiliary election (I think 1932) where it gained enough support for the then president Hindenburg (conservative) to appoint Hitler chancellor (1933). When Hindenburg died in office, Hitler managed to push through the Enabling Act (1933) that gave him ultimate power as dictator. From that point on Hitler took control and the people couldn't even vote him out as he had outlawed all other political parties. Thus, it's difficult to say exactly how much support he had f/ the German people at that juncture. Eventually, as Hitler used his military to gain more territory through aggression but no war, his popularity soared. Then, WWII started 9/1/1939 and the equation drastically changed but it was too late ... Hitler was fuhrer.
Germans thought Germany got a raw deal f/ WWI ... that was in the Nazi platform and the 2nd reason.

The Germans perceived themselves in hard economic straits...it literally took bushels of Deutschmark to buy a loaf of bread.
Unemployment was extremely high, 33% in 1936.
In general the Fuhrer claimed he could make Germany great again. And the deplorables who feared for their futures bought into his propaganda.
