Each of the given choices is in vertex form → y = a(x - h)² + k where (h, k) is the vertex

for each case a = 1

the required vertex is at (-2, -1)

the required equation is y = (x - -2)² + -1 ... [subsing into the vertex form of the equation]

so y = (x + 2)² - 1 →→ so the 2nd choice

the vertex is -b/2a

so get rid of the brackets and see which one will give you (-2,-1)
