...you intended to confess the lie and repair any damage you had done?
I ask this because of my signature:
I hear the voice of a spirit that claims to be God™.
That means conversation with a spirit that claims to be God Almighty. Maybe He is lying, but that is what He say's. He and I do not 'get along' very well.
He lies to me. I tell Him that that is evidence that there is no morality in a 'cosmic' sense that He adhere's to. He does that because it suits His purpose. And, I tell Him that if a human did that, we would be judged harshly.
To clarify. We are going to be judged on our level of honesty by a judge who is a liar. That is an injustice if this spirit is who He say's He is.
But..., He also say's that He will repair any damages done at a later date.
So my question, Do you think it is OK to tell a lie today if you intend to confess the lie later and repair any damage? Is that still morality?
Update:@fish Fingers- I guess you didn't understand that this was a question about morality, not looking for advice.

Well Dexter, the first thing that popped into my head was that you were gonna confess that you didn't hear a spirit...
Then, comes the idea that it takes one to know one...of course a liar can judge based on honesty...only another liar would understand motives to lie & really be able comprehend the act...by the way - who ever said life & death were fair or even supposed to be?
Now, Dexter...Are you really serious? God would never lie to you. He loves you. If your serious about this...Send that spirit away in the name of Jesus. He is bothering you, and trying to lead you on the wrong Path. Satan and his angels are hard at work trying to Lie to others and to get them to hate God. Send it away.
Presumably God doesn't have to lie, so it would be wrong for God to do so.
Actually, the question refers to truth. My bible says that satan is the father of lies. So I'd say that you are arguing with satan - not GOD
I think you need to tell a psychiatrist about the voices.
