HW prompt... I have no clue what that's asking! What am I doing with my friend? What do I do with my friends?
You don't have to answer the question for me... Please just tell me what it means! The translators aren't making sense :[

What your friend is doing
It's "What is your friend doing?" You can tell because the verb estar is conjugated in the third person singular, está. So it can't be "What are you doing?" -- that would be "¿Que estás haciendo?" There's also no "with" in there -- "What are you doing with your friend?" would be "¿Qué estás haciendo con tu amgio/a?"
I agree with WHAT IS YOUR FRIEND DOING. Notice the use of the gerund. It signifies that your friend is in the middle of doing something. Por ejemplo, ¿Qué está haciendo Juan? Ãl está estudiando.
Que esta haciendo
what is your friend doing?
que esta haciendo tu amigo/a?
What is your friend doing?
