Can someone please help me answer this? Thank you!
x^2 = 9/4 ---> x = ...
NOTE: I'm assuming the character after the 64 is a minus sign.
You basically need x^2 to be -80, to make it 64 +80 -144 = 0. So if you can have a complex answer it could be:
Since x is squared, we need to get the square root of 80 -- the equation will square it to get the 80.
Also, since 16*5 = 80, so we can take our square root of 16, which is 4, making it
x = -4 * square root of (5)
Note the negative 4.
(8x - 12)(8x + 12) = 0
8x - 12 = 0 , x = 12/8
8x + 12 = 0 , x = -12/8
x = 3/2 , -3/2
