My career goal is to become a director of engineers at a robotics company. But before I do this I want to join the navy as a engineering officer. I know I will gain leadership skills with the navy, but my experience may not be directly related to robotic engineering. Would still be a good option? Why or why not?
Thanks

If you join the military, realize that most jobs you do will not be related to robotics.
The officer engineering billets are either done through the academies, or through you getting an engineering degree prior to joining the service. I highly encourage you to visit an officer recruiter soon.
Your university degree will be what's directly related to robotics engineering. Your Navy leadership will be what's related any future directorship. Focus on the specific major you want with a University that has an NROTC program.
Don't bother.....by the time you leave the Navy the "director" will be a robot, too...
it will be good experience, both leadership wise and engineering wise. Btw, the navy is working on robotic systems
thats up to you
