Sever "itching" rash… side effect or allergic reaction from Morphine?
I went to the ER last night & I was given 2 doses of Morphine through an iv. Right after I got the iv I started itching. Now ,20 hrs later, I have a bumpy rash over my entire chest, neck & face. My earlobe is swollen, it looks like it is spreading to my legs & arms. Is this a side effect or am I having an allergic reaction to Morphine? Should I consult a doctor or just wait for it to wear off? Thanks!

Well what exactly did you go to the ER for? It does sound like an allergic reaction to Morphine however. I'd see a doctor to try and find out exactly what it is so if it is the morphine you know for the future that you can't have it because you have an allergy for it. Once the morphine leaves your body it should stop spreading and start getting better.
