Hello, Ive been doing some research online and it seems Canine Heritrage® is the most talked about. I would love to get my dog DNA tested but it seems they don't have American bulldog and Pitbull on the list of Breeds. " http://www.canineheritage.com/breed_list.html " but i did see Stafford-shires which could be a possibility I want to buy a DNA test but if my dog looks most like an american bulldog or pitty ,Will the test come back Inaccurate?
P.s. Many people lump all of the Bull and Terrier breeds under an incorrect umbrella they have coined the "pitbull type" or similar catch all terms. The Bull and Terrier breeds being the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the Bull Terrier the APBT and the American Staffordshire Terrier. Some people take it further and include many short coated, well muscled breeds.Groups of upwards of thirty breeds at times.
The AmStaff actually came about when a group of people wanted to dissociate themselves with the term Pit Bull and the history carried with it.Now people lump them back in as Pit Bulls. It actually makes very little sense if you take the time to educate yourself. The American PIT BULL terrier is the only breed of dog in the whole universe with the words PIT BULL in its name.

i do no longer think of there's a try for that. in certainty i'm incredibly valuable that they do no longer try the DNA the type you think of they do. There are no unique markers for particular breeds contained in the DNA. relatively, what they do is deliver at the same time up an excellent style of DNA from dogs that are hassle-loose to be a definite breed, then evaluate the DNA of unknown dogs to that library. In different words, there is in no way a particular gene or in step with danger a chain of genes which will shout out that a dogs could be this breed or that. that's greater an issue of the DNA resembles this library greater effective than that library. So the greater heavily proper the breeds are, the greater solid it truly is to distinguish between the DNA libraries. this isn't like how they DNA try for specific illnesses. wherein case, all of us understand what the markers contained in the DNA for specific illnesses are and those will the two seem or no longer. yet breed testing, isn't that at present forward. in step with danger sometime ...
Pit bulls are NOT a breed and you own an ill bred BYB mutt
pit bull is not a recognized breed by the AKC. There fore its not a breed. Its an ill bred mutt
AMS is a REAL breed. Pit bull is not. Telling yourself your ill bred BYB junk is a real breed won't make it a real breed
pit bull is not a recognized breed by the AKC. the american bull dog is- but DNA tests are similar to other types like the staffy.
now as to canine heritage, they are the best, and will give you as accurate results as they can determine, based on their database.
It could well come back inaccurate. Dog dna testing is often inaccurate. Don't bother wasting money.
