Putting college on tax’s?!?
So I’ve paid out of pocket for school for 2017 my last semester ending in December has still not been fully paid off. My question is does this have to be paid off completely in “2017” order for me to use that last semester on my taxes? Or can I make my last payment in January of 2018 and still be able to use it for my 2017 taxes?

only can use what you paid during the year you're filing for
You can use the portion you actually paid in 2017.
You can only use what you paid. Your 2018 payment cannot be counted on 2017 taxes.
Must be paid in 2017.
