Using the duncan hines yellow cake mix, I want to bake it in a 9x12 pan .... what oven temp and how long
ALL CAKES are baked at 350F.
ALL cake mixes come with cooking times for various sizes of pans. READ THE FOCKING DIRECTIONS.
Isn't that the usual size? AND I have never seen a 9x12 pan, only 9x13 pans, which is a typical cake pan.
the problem is the cake mixes they sell now are smaller than they used to be so you get a thinner cake.
What size is recommended on your cake box instructions?
AND fyi, no matter what size the temp is always the same, just the time is different. the smaller the cake the less time it takes to bake.
It will tell you right on the box.
It makes 2 layers in 8 or 9 inch round pans, right? A 9x13= those 2 layers in volume only in 1 layer so it should be the same time/temp. What is it, 350F 25-30 mins? Check with a toothpick at 25 mins then add a couple more it's not moist crumbs.
I would start it at 350 degrees, for 20 minutes. And then keep testing it every few minutes.
THAT is if the directions are not on the box, or if you can not contact the company and ask them
350 degrees and 30-35 minutes.
