is X kind of like a Huuh sound? because my Russian Alphabet sheet says it is a hard H sound, and it says that ы is like the I in ILL.
i cant seem to get these 2 letters pronunciation down
any help would be great.

Yeah, you should get some audio, try the link form the first answerer, but X is sort of like the /ch/ in Bach, or maybe a bit like the Spanish "j", it's the same concept. I wouldn't say that ы is like the "i" in "ill", it's more like the "e" in "roses", but you should get audio for that because since we don't really have in in English it's hard to compare.
Ñ is, as others have said, like the "ch" in Bach and loch. Start with your mouth open as though you're about to say "huh", and then breathe in, and then try and close your throat as you would to say "kuh".
For Ñ it's a bit trickier. The "e" in "roses" is close enough for most purposes, but the actual sound is made by putting your tongue on the ridge behind your teeth and trying to say the "oy" out of "joy".
You really need to hear them said by native speakers - - try and download something , or get yourself a CD - but in the meantime, X is like the /ch/ in German 'Bach' or Scottish 'loch'.
