Christmas is supposed to be the celebration commemorating the birth of Jesus. Christians, mostly, celebrate His birth but just don’t know definitely when it happened.
Some people do not celebrate Christmas simply because it is a Pagan festival, particularly, Saturnalia. Some so-called “Christians” do not, also, maybe because they don’t know the exact date, and by not celebrating it may be their way of avoiding the issue. And some people deny that Jesus ever existed all together, that He is a myth.
If His birth could be established, would you believe in Jesus?

can you establish a link to a supreme being, not just if Jesus was born, and support your claims with fact not supposition
Trying to say that whether he is the son of a god is not as important as if he was real; or vice versa does not lend anything to this conversation. Now, I am not being arrogant and I am not the first person to have learned what I have. Many scholars long ago wrote about what they had learned about Jesus but they could not come forth with their findings because the church was too powerful at that time and those scholars would have lost everything after the church had made them seem like fools and heretics. But some scholars likie Bruno Bauer indicated in their writngs that the Romans invented christianity, and others came very close to saying that they were sure that Jesus was not a real person. Things have changed and the church does not have to power today as it held long ago, and I am not at all afraid of losing anything, and I plan to make my findings, together with my research partner, known as far and wide as possible. We have found how Jesus came about, and that during the War of The Jews (Judeans fighting the Romans), there was a Judean military leader believed to be the highest ranking whose name was Jesus. He along with so many things mentioned in the NT are nothing more than parodies about that war. The story is really making fun at the Judeans and was not at all about a messiah, but the Romans wanted to destroy Judaism and then convert the Judeans to their new religion in order to make them more easily controlled. The Judeans would not accept the new religion nor the Jesus that the Romans invnted which is the Jesus that christians think that they worship, so the Romans began to slaughter them. So Jesus was not real, but a composite character in a fictional story. To learn this one has to do a tremendous amount of research and deductions of what you find and to learn about the important persons of that time in history. So my answer to your question would have to be, the birth of Jesus cannot be established, and have you ever given one thought to the fact that if he was real and the son of the god that you believe in, how could it be possible that his birthdate is not know to all. Not mentiong a birthdate in the story was just another of many disclaiamers that are in the NTso that the writers would not have to prove it either, and they left it as if there was reason for the birthdate not be recorded. But his mother would know, his father or whatever the fictional Joseph would be called would know, so would all of those people who are claimed to have come to visit Jesus in that stable, someone would have wrote it down. No, Jesus was not a real person, neither was Mary, nor those desciples, nor was John the Baptist. There weren't any christian nor any churches until about the years 90 to 92CE, after Domitian had been done away with.

It isn't the date of anyone's birth that makes them important, (What ARE you thinking???) it is what they stood for, and what they did with their lives (and that would go for you, as well) .. Whether Jesus was one man, or several, as some scholars have suggested, is really immaterial.
It is what he stood for: And that was, that all people were important, and equal. That we as fellow humans owe each other love and care. That as an example, all ought to be allowed into the temples, not just the rich, priests, and the elite. That we are our brothers' keepers. He even valued women --- a prostitute was part of his following.
He was rounded up with lots of others who protested the unfairness of Roman law. and he and thousands of other both before him and after him, were crucified, as a warning..... "give Rome a bad time, and this will happen to you too".
If he were alive today, he's be a socialist, and look what happened to him?
You have missed the entire point............
I have no problem believing that a man named Jesus existed. But I don't believe any of the mythology surrounding him, such as that he was born to virgin, was risen from the dead, was God's son, made dead people come back to life, etc. Those are the things that will need to be proven in order for me to take Jesus any more seriously than John Doe in line at the grocery store.
If the birth of anyone is proved, then obviously, the existence of that person has been proven too, right?
In any case, you can't prove he existed OR that he was born, simply because neither ever happened.
its not about the birth of jesus, its about his death and resurrection. jesus may have been born, but the date doesnt matter if he never died and rose again. he would just be a normal person. we put too much effort into the whole birth of jesus thing.
If you could prove that a guy called jesus lived 2000 years ago and preached peace and love sure, I would believe.
But that´s a long way from proving that he was the divine son of god.
Nope! Lots of people are born and die that no one has ever heard about. There are many pretenders in the world and Christianity is just one more. I speak to god all the time and she has never heard of this Iesus!
No one denies the actual existence of Jesus, just what he was claimed to have stood for.
