After an honest investigation of the bible and a true heart felt search for god I still can’t believe he exists and/or loves me, I just can’t make myself believe.
I feel at peace with my conclusion and therefore I will just continue to go on with my life and do my best to live in harmony with my fellowman and be a law abiding citizen.
If those who don’t believe in god or Jesus go to hell and since god doesn't send anyone to hell I guess when I die I will be sending myself there? But how does going to hell even work? If there is an afterlife will I just chose to go to hell by pushing the down button on the elevator to hell or will there be an escalator that I will chose to get on that will go down to hell or maybe I will have to jump into a pit or a lake of fire, I just don’t get it why would I chose to do that and why would god let me?
If god is all loving why would there even be a hell?

I can't either, and dropped the idea of the sky daddy thing when I was 8.
There is no evidence of any afterlife... dead is dead and anything else is contrary to experience.
And yes, you have answered your own question.
There is a down side, I hope you realize: being a bright, intelligent person who reasons well, you are faced with accepting rational answers.... sometimes being accepting of the ridiculous is a comfort, I'd think.
Be happy you are not some poor starving person in Dafur who all you have to cling to in life is to think the next one has got to be better.....
The word “hell” is used 54 times in the Bible. It is translated from several different words with various meanings.
In the Old Testament:
* 31 times from the Hebrew “Sheol,” which means
“the grave”
In the New Testament:
* 10 times from the Greek “Hades,” which means
“the grave”
* 12 times from the Greek “Gehenna,” which means
“a place of burning”, the garbage outside the walls of Jerusalem
1 time from the Greek “Tartarus,” which means“a place of darkness”
The Lake of Fire is not Hell. The Lake of Fire comes to existance during the Great White Throne Judgement.

.If the translators of the Revised Version Bible had been thoroughly disentangled from the church error, and thoroughly honest, they would have done more to help the English student than merely to substitute the Hebrew word sheol and the Greek word hades as they have done. They should have translated the words. But they were evidently afraid to tell the truth, and ashamed to tell the lie; and so gave us sheol and hades untranslated, and permitted the inference that these words mean the same as the word "hell" has become perverted to mean. Their course, while it for a time shields themselves, dishonors God and the Bible, which the common people still suppose teaches a "hell" of torment in the words sheol and hades. Yet anyone can see that if it was proper to translate the word thirty-one times "grave" and three times "pit," it could not have been improper to so translate it in every other instance.
I don't think you researched your Bible entirely. You must believe and have faith. Read John 3:16. We have a choice and God gives us these choices. We can choose to follow him or not. We can be good people and do good deeds but if we do not believe in Jesus and become born again then you will go to hell. So the decision is up to you. There is a judgment day when Jesus will come back. And those who have believed will enter heaven and those who do not will be turned away to burn in hell. I'm sorry I can't explain exactly where hell came from in way that you would understand without talking to my dad. But Jesus does talk about hell in the new testament. Also Read Revelations. God loves you and that is why he wants you to choose to believe in him. He wants you to come to heaven.
The idea of a loving God sending people to hell for eternity is not easy to accept. Why would God, who is full of mercy and grace, send people to a place of torment for ever and ever for not trusting in Jesus even though they are nice people, or never heard of Jesus, or were sincerely trying to find God? Is that fair? Is that right?
When people ask these questions, they are appealing to what they perceive as fairness. They are looking at the issue from their human fireperspective. But this perspective is not necessarily the right one. If God exists, and He does, then it is He who is the One who says what is right and fair, not us. So, we need to see what the Bible says about what is right regarding sin and salvation and make a decision afterwards.http://www.carm.org/apologetics/evidence-and-answe...
If you read the bible, then you know that God isn't "all loving" in the sense that many people try to use it today. God is the epitome of holiness and righteousness. The mere thought of lust or hate is an offense to God. So with that said, God is opposed to anything that isn't completely holy and righteous.
Christianity teaches judgment upon death. So you won't be choosing where you are going upon judgment. At that point, if you are found to be imperfect, then your soul will go to a place devoid of God's active love. Since this is all spiritual, who knows exactly what any of this will be like.
There is a hell because God is just. It may be loving if all rapists and murderers got to go to heaven, but it certainly wouldn't be just.
Hell exists because it is a state of being without God, which we choose if we do not choose to be with Him at the moment of our deaths. That being said, I believe pretty much everyone is destined for heaven, ultimately.
It's pretty much the only choice we ever really make. The human concept of a choice is not only vastly overrated, but rather nonexistent. It's like we are trying to believe that we can make decisions about things that only God can make a decision about.
There will be a time in the future after judgment day that God will send those that didn't' overcome to the lake of fire.
God knows what's going to happen if you chose Him.
God knows what's going to happen if you DON'T chose Him.
God gave you a free will to chose either way, but He doesn't know what choice you are going to make.
Your handle belies your true beliefs, Nazgul King.
How about this, since you choose to reject Jesus Christ as your savior (and thereby also reject God), do you think you'd be happy living in Heaven for eternity always in the eternal presence of the Deity you rejected?
Instead, wouldn't you rather be in the place where the eternal presence of God would be absent? (Now, that's what I call hell.)
And by the way - this may be your decision now, but don't think God is through with you - you may yet change your mind.
This is what hell will be for you...
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
This is what heaven will be if you turn your life over to Jesus and be Born Again.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Try faith in what you cannot see with your eyes and pray to Jesus. He will hear you. It's worth it. It really is.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Im no longer atheist with the help of any ability yet i'm extra advantageous than curious to ask what it extremely is you have confidence in? As interior the backside of your faith? with the aid of fact i extremely think of you have the bible somewhat distorted. The version of god you're describing is the father of Jesus Christ. Now Allah is a thoroughly distinctive god with thoroughly distinctive morales and values. the father of Jesus Christ says he's a jealous god and does not like it whilst human beings pray or worship different gods (alongside with Allah). He doesnt get mad and deliver human beings to hell with the aid of fact human beings call him Allah or another call. Thats perpostrous. once you attempt to make a factor approximately faith a minimum of attempt to appreciate what your speaking approximately with the aid of fact all you're doing with this message is making different christians, catholics, protestants and in spite of else seem undesirable. And please whilst your attempting to make a factor to somebody approximately faith dont bypass off and initiate speaking approximately your brother being interior the wellbeing facility. Thats unhappy to pay attention and became into stupid of him to become in contact with such human beings yet submit it in yet another subject count or question.
