In real astrology, we use the synastry aspects, not the Signs. And we use the planets and the Ascendant but nothing else .. and the North Node is neither of these.
So no, it doesn't count for anything.
The synastry aspects are determined by specific distances between any two planets (or the Ascendant). These - not the Signs - indicate interaction between the two people. Some distances create attraction and harmony, others support discord and incompatibilty. There will always be some of both kinds of synastry aspects. So the Synastry doesn't say if you two will make it work ... just what kind of issues are two are going to have to surmount IF the relationship is going to work. Astrology cannot indicate if the two of you are emotionally-healthy enough OR have grown emotionally enough TO make the relationship last. But it can be useful for understanding what needs of yours conflict with needs of your partner. So it can be a tool.
Understand that it is not the compatibility that makes it work (for instance, love is only 11% of what makes a relationship work), but rather HOW we work together on handling the conflicts and ensuring both parties get their needs met.
The following site does a somewhat decent job of providing a free synastry report (no computer can fully interpret any kind of chart or chart comparison... computer reports just give itemizations, but cannot put it into a complete whole, nor explain how the contradictions within the report are likely to work out).
Caveat: You MUST have the EXACT birthtime for BOTH .. not an approximate or rounded off time. This is very critical .. you cannot get any accurate readings without an accurate time in astrology:
