You should be able to talk to your vet about this- as he will have more information about medications that can be taken with the cushings medication.
My dog was on a fantastic product called "sashas blend" for her arthritis. She also had diabetes, and this did not interfere with her medication.
Sashas blend is made from natural ingredients, and it worked fantastically to help my dog. She had arthritis from when she was about 2 because she was hit by a car as a pup (before we got her) she went on the mix for a couple of months- then didnt need it again until she was much older.
You can go to the Walmart or Cosco or Sams Club(3 cheapest) and purchase some MSM with glucosamine condruit, which I am sure I mispelled.Depending on the size of dog give him 2-4daily.It takes a month or more to work but when it does you will notice a huge difference in him.I have given it to my dog for 3 yrs now on the advice of a holistic vet(wanted me to buy hers at 5x's the price)Also a Bayer aspirin a day till the pills kick in(also vets advice),but for some reason it had to be Bayer..lol.GoodLuck it is as painful for the owner as it is the dog to see them suffer.
There are many drugs you can go for but you have to take into consideration many things like weight of the dog, allergies, and so on. A good option would be to go for natural pain reliefs such as the one offered at this site http://tinyurl.com/mmbv4b
Natural relievers are good because they do not have any side effects. Moreover, the site above is giving a free trial for a limited time.
