Your going to need a new transmission happens to me in my 300 it will probably last a cupple months but it’s a transmission issue get it looked at mine cost me $5000 might have been cheaper if I would have got it looked at when I put my key in and start it up put in gear and nothing then I shut off car started it it went in gear had to rebuild tranny or buy a new one ....
It would be very helpful to know if it was a manual or an automatic transmission. If it was a manual could be the clutch or some other part. If it's an automatic it could be out of fluid or it could just be shot.

Time for a rebuilt transmission.

Check the transmission fluid. New cars use electronically controlled transmissions so it could also be a wiring problem.
