Anti depressants can help us through a difficult period in our lives. They will not cure our problems. They help to mask the symptoms. Anti depressants give us a window of opportunity during which we should be working to move on from whatever the problems is.
Anti depressants will not actually HARM you but, if you allow them to numb your pain without actually dealing with the cause of it, they are not helping you. At some point we have to face our problems and learn how to deal with them or, even better, how to eliminate them. Anything that stops us doing that is probably not good for us.
I know that is hard to do but the only certainty is that, if we don't make the effort to get our head straight, face of fears and learn to grow stronger, it will never happen. The medications can't do it for us. They just create the space so WE can do it for ourselves.
Yes , u will get addict of it but ur doctor will let u leave it very gradually . Mind it , it will be long time treatment . Act as per advice of ur doctor , it will be better for u
No, it's going to help you. The idea is that it, (maybe with other strategies), will rid you of your depression, at least for periods of time. (Clinical depression is often cyclical and you may have to use it periodically for life). Don't listen to scare stories, and don't overthink the whole thing. Take your medication and then take one day at a time. Hope you're feeling better soon.
All meds have side effects and yes, there is the possibility that the medication could effect your body at 16. Which is more important though, worrying about what MIGHT happen or crippling depression? I would say the depression is worse so it's worth taking the chance.
