Based on that I would say his major religious devotion was the the Goddess Athena. His reported stories supports that premise. They are clearly not Spartan.
He's one of those ancient figures who's been so highly fictionalized that it's hard to get real details on him or be 100% certain he was actually 1 guy and not someone tons of stories were just accredited to. But, he was Greek.
