So two weeks ago a company named Nielsen contacted me about my job application I put in. Everything went fine for the phone interview, but last week I had a video interview with one of the managers. And everything seemed fine as well. I was told I was to be contacted soon , which was pretty much last week. I contacted one of the HR people to follow up and see if I missed any steps. They said they have been really busy and will call me later that day. This was on Monday and today is now Friday. I called and left a voicemail but they never responded. I understand if they are busy , but I mean Still you can’t just leave people hanging. So what do I do from here just wait?

You aren't getting hired likely.
Find a new job and apply.
Unfortunately yes, you just wait, and continue your job search other places. Filling the job might not be high priority to them, or they might be talking to someone else they feel more closely meets their needs. good luck
They can leave you hanging, that maybe their way of rejecting you.
They don't have to tell you weather or not you have the job.
You're trying to follow up and you haven't got a response.
If they keep blowing you off, look for another job.
They can absolutely leave people hanging...why would you think they couldn't or wouldn't do that...???
Until you have a job offer, keep looking.
Calling back makes you look desperate...desperate people are usually stressed out and don't make great employees in general. I get it, you want the job...but play it cool bud.
Yes. You wait and you resist the urge to keep annoying them.
That is why they want you to wait. So they can weed out the annoying types that keep calling and being PIA's.
The best thing for you to do it to keep looking for and applying for other jobs...because if you do not get the job...they will not call you to tell you that.
You keep looking for another job. They either are blowing you off or they are overly busy. For me, either of those things is a negative and makes me not want to work for them if I have options.
No Human Resources (HR) officer (or manager) wants to leave a candidate with bad feelings.
They are ALWAYS (mostly) Nice.
ALL Hiring situations are "Don't Call us, we will call you".
IF the employer wanted You they would have called. They Never Forget, they have dozens of applicants. And there is no Obligation to call all the failures. The interest is in the One that is hired.
IF the HR does not send an applicant for a Drug Test, they are not spending any money on someone they do not intend to hire.
Wait Six (6) Months to Apply Again.
Be wary of any potential employer who does not do a Face to Face.
They are paring down a huge line of applicants, if you are not invited in.
If you need work, don't sit on it. Get out and find a job.
Never wait on a "good" job, keep putting out the paper (minimum four applications a day.)
Go on-line? Look at the bottom of the various web pages, look for "Careers", then click it.
With most companies now, people are more disposable than toilet paper. Keep looking.
You continue looking for other jobs until one of them actually gives you a start date
