(2) You'd prefer they didn't come back, but you didn't actually say "I would appreciate it if you wrote my house number down and did not come back here again"
(3) You may have expressed dis-interest in our message, but accepted the literature offered rather than refuse it, which would give anyone the impression that coming back again would be ok.
Sometimes we do come back to people's homes, realizing that circumstances and situations in everyone's life changes at times. A person who isn't interested one time, may have had something happen to them that on the next visit by Jehovah's Witnesses may leave them more receptive to the Bible's message.
- Incidentally, Chad's answer is a complete lie. The Witnesses showed HIM in HIS own Bible that Jesus is NOT God, and then he told them not to return because he couldn't handle it.
If after politely telling Witnesses not to come back anymore and we still do, then firmly tell us to take your name and address and put you down as a "Do Not Call." Once a year thereafter, an elder from the local Kingdom Hall will stop by to see if you have moved or changed your mind. Once in awhile, those going door to door forget to check the addresses of those listed as Do Not Calls so if that should happen, remind them that you are on the Do Not Call list or better yet, peek out the window and don't bother answering.
When I showed them in their own Bible that Jesus is God they suddenly had to leave and never came back. That's what happens when you're not allowed to think for yourself. Thankfully I live in a different house now and am currently speaking with a couple every other week. Sad, God's heart hurts for these poor deceived folks.

You could just go to youtube and search "Jehovah's Witnesses: History of Shame" and show them that video!
i'm a Witness additionally. What my expensive brothers and sisters have reported is genuine. We call on human beings by using fact we actually need to share the perfect a threat information with them.... that God's kingdom is quickly going to end all wickedness and suffering on the earth. in case you do not desire to be certain this for your self on your guy or woman Bible purely let us know so. Revelation 21:a million-4 tell the Witnesses next time they finally end up placed on the 'do not call' checklist or call the dominion corridor, ideally interior the evenings as quickly as we'd be there or on a Sunday, ask for an elder and tell him to place you on the do not call checklist. it particularly is rather uncomplicated.
Sorry for that. I have no idea where you are so I have no idea of the particular circumstances.
I can offer that it might not be written down as the correct address not to call. Or that people also move. They also change their minds when something happens in their lives. these are only a few of the many logical reasons we may call on someone who is supposed to be on a do not call list.
I trust we did not lay siege to your front door. Shell your front yard or have a beach landing in your back yard as some here will no doubt claim we do to every house.
Seriously, it is very rare that Witnesses will call at homes at such an early hour and I have never actually heard of that; I'm not saying you are lying or exagerating to make a point... just that in 30 years of preaching I've never seen it.
Still we have a divine commission to preach and preach we will. Why not ask them next time to come at a more convenient time?
Is it the same individuals who keep coming back? Or other JWs? I suspect, like with any large organization, there's a delay with internal comunications, and one team may simply now know that another team was asked to come back. You get with with any company.
If its the same individuals, then in their minds they're probably thinking they are doing you a favor by showing you how to live better in this life and go to heaven in the next. I don't question their motives too much, but am quick to agree that its as annoying as creditors or mass marketers.
how do you identify a witness? could others not witnesses come to your door? I guess unless you say are you jehovahs witnesses you wouldnt know for sure...
sometimes witnesses might be distracted and forget certain homes. But keep trying to be polite they aren't trying to ignore your wishes.
if its the same witness people each time, i would prolly be upset too.
also you might not be the person they want to talk to. there may be others in the house who must speak for themselves. You inadvertantly prevent them maybe from talking to someone who is actually interested. Our mission is to reach everyone in a house so they can make a truly informed decision.
