If I met someone at the kingdom hall tomorrow and I really hit it off with him, if he and his wife invited me over for Sunday dinner, would there be anything wrong with us calmly discussing the presidential campaign, or any other area of politics? That is all with the assumption that there would be no contentious arguments and no dissension. But again, as long as there are no arguments were discussing politics be acceptable?
Update:Sorry, my monitor is going bad, plus using voice recognition software. It is supposed to be"Would discussing politics be acceptable?"

Because supporting any political forum I think it would not be in good taste to discuss politics. It's something that I know personally I would start thinking about the political subjects, candidates and what their promises are. This would take away my allegiance to a theocratic government. Discuss the New World and ask them burning questions you have about Jehovah. You could even ask them and have them why we don't support politics. Let it be a learning lesson for yourself and than you can aswer your question from the heart. I think it's so great your going to the KH and making friends. And I sincerelyy hope your enjoying the education.
We strive to be neutral with regards to politics of the world. So how would a neutral conversation go:
You) Hi I really think that candidate X is not doing enough about N but I really like what candidate Y is doing. What do you think?
Them) Jehovah's Witnesses strive to be neutral as regards politics.
Where would the conversation go from there?
They wouldn't say anything like that they were for one candidate or another. They might tell you what the Bible has to say about the future of politics.
