Depression means your brain is not producing sufficient serotonin. Depression is common but easy to treat. So tell a dr. how you feel and ask for Zoloft, an excellent antidepressant.-----
It takes 2-3 wks for your body to adjust to it during which time you will have trouble staying asleep. But, after that, you will become a relaxed, confident, happy, healthy person.
Its a bad time of year. A lot of people feel this way at this time of year. You might have to just hang in there for a month or 2 till spring comes. You might need to try different doctors and therapists. Sometimes it can take a while to get things that work. Also, try some home remedies. Try eating healthier. Look up what foods are good for depressed people. Try getting a little light exercise. Stretching all your muscles for 10- 15 minutes daily can help you feel better, plus some aerobic or other exercises for 15-20 minutes. I do this while watching tv. Make sure you don't watch stuff that depresses you on tv. Don't listen to depressing music, unless you need to cry and let it all out. But this shouldn't be too often. Try prayer to God. Try to get to know God, and know what he has for your life. He can teach you a lot, including how to be an honorable person and lead a meaningful life. You will also find out that He is very loving.Try helping others sometimes- maybe volunteer somewhere. If you like animals, you can try volunteering at the humane society or ask if you can help at a wildlife rescue place. Helping others gives your life meaning and helps you to go beyond being selfish. Also, sometimes it helps people to do things that make them feel happy. If you have any hobbies like this, try them out. I take a lot of vitamins that help me cope. More than half the people in the US are vitamin D deficient. This makes people feel tired. A lot of people take multivitamin/mutimineral supplements to help with anything they might be missing. Also, a lot of people take a B-complex vitamin or Vitamin B12, because it helps people have more energy and feel less stressed. I take both, alternating every other day. Some people say aloe or royal jelly (made for queen bees) help them with their energy. I hope some of this helps you. I hope you keep trying, even though I know you are frustrated. You might benefit from a support group for depressed people too. I hope something in here helps you! Best wishes!
You realize that therapists and doctors have one mission -- to GUIDE you. You are the person responsible for helping yourself. You take the advice and help you get from a therapist and incorporate it into your daily life. They are there to give us direction and show us ways to healing. they have no magic wand. BUT, they do know how to help you recover. You have to do the work. And therapy? It works when we WORK IT. There is no other way
The will to live exists in every cell in your body, in every part of your brain, it is born into us from the earliest stages of evolution. After all, you exist because of the will to live. So, what you have is an illness that needs treatment. If you're truly suicidal, go to the hospital and let them know. But, beyond that, see a therapist and a psychiatrist, believe that you have the right to have the will to live, and that whatever is telling you to give up is wrong. Think of it this way. The brain is both who we are and just a dumb organ. When the brain gets sick, some people get headaches, others get dizzy, some get forgetful, others get hallucinations, and some lose the will to live. Treat this as an illness, and you will yet discover how wonderful you and the world around you are in so many ways.
There are many different therapists out there and many different kinds of therapy. You may need to try a few to find the one that works for you. I tried several therapists before finding the one I have now, and he’s great!

End your life so you don't have to deal with this bullshit
If you don't care for living, try something else.
Call on Dr. Jesus.
