The easiest way is, of course, to use a graphing calculator and use the table function. You can to to my website at www.grafcalcwhiz.com to learn how to do that. If you are required to graph by hand, then the usual method is to substitute values for x into the equation and solve for the corresponding y-values. Let's do a table, and I'll use dots to maintain spacing.

Let's use the .25 as the change in x since the equation will quickly run off the paper if we use whole numbers. We'll write the equation as y = 12.57pix^3+3pix^2.

I'll do one to show you how to do the arithmetic, and you can do the others the same way.

Let x = -.5

y=12.57pix^3 + 3pix^2

=12.57*3.1416*(-.5)^3 +3*pi*(-.5)^2

=39.4899*-.125 + 3*3.1416*.25

=-4.93+2.3562

=-2.58

Use the arithmetic functions of your calculator to do the number operations.

Plot all of the x-y order pairs on a coordinate system and sketch a line through them.
