Most likely you won't win more than $15. Don't be fooled by the 1 in 5 chance. It is probably 1 in 5 chance to win like $2. 1 in 100 chance to win $20. and 1 in 100000 chance to win $100,000. The more you play these games the more you will lose in the long run.
mr.longshot has it right. From scratch tickets, you should expect an AVERAGE return of about half of what you spend.
So for £15, you'll typically "win" back about £7 or £8. Sometimes it'll be less. Sometimes it'll be more.
By the way, at a 50% payback rate, this easily makes buying these scratch off tickets the WORST bet on the planet! No other standard bet even comes close to being as bad as lottery tickets.
Of course you could... but it's not likely. In general, the lottery doesn't make a habit of paying out more than it takes in. That's sort of common sense.

The pay out on these things is 50%.. 50 cents for every dollar. Law of average says you will get 7.50 back. BUT.. Some Lucky Dog will hit the biggie!!

Chances are you'll lose money. If 1 in 5 wins, at best you bought 3 winners. Most prizes will be $1. You just lost $12.
I doubt it, it's unlikely but possible.
In theory though, your guarannteed to get a return of at least £3. That's assuming 1 in 4 are a winner.
Oh sure. You would have a 15 to 1 billion chance to win. You had better save your money and stay away from gambling.
No, I don't think you'll win your money back.
