I'm looking at the new Gateway® FX6840-03e today and saw it had a lot of good stuff. Only thing I'm unsure of is the brand of the hardware. I head FX is connected with asus for hardware but i'm not sure.

The specs on it are superb for gaming actually. I like Alienware cases better though =p
The problem I see, is that it has a radeon 5770, and alot of people experience issues with those combined with windows 7. Its nothing with the card, just ATI making bad drivers. As usual.
Yes unless you are able to build your own system the FX is awesome. I just bought one two days ago and am extremely happy with it. You aren't going to get the very best of the gaming components possible unless you build a system costing well over 2 grand. This is a great factory system that can easily be uprgraded. I am not sure if the motherboard supports crossfire (double video cards) but it does have slots for additional GPU's. Memory can also be upgraded to 16GB DDR3 instead of 8. I was originally going to build a computer of this caliber but it was going to cost roughly the same. For future uprgrades beyond what i mentioned above, you could easily sawp out the motherboard that with i7 socket and still use the components you want while adding multiple GPU's. IN my opinion I say buy it. hope this helps. A side note that the FX comes with actually 2 audio cards. one is a realtek that comes on board and the other is integrated into the video card. This was a great featur for me because one HDMI to my 42" LCD and i have sound and a huge monitor
